Genealogy platforms are often complex, visually outdated, and difficult for first-time users to engage with. For younger audiences in particular, the process of researching family history can feel administrative rather than meaningful. The challenge was to reframe genealogy as something aspirational and emotionally engaging, while removing friction from the early stages of discovery and making the experience approachable for people new to exploring their family history.
I designed a modern genealogy brand focused on clarity, warmth, and storytelling.
I developed a contemporary visual identity designed to appeal to a millennial audience, defining colour, typography, and tone to feel personal, accessible, and human rather than institutional.
Following standard UX principles, I mapped a simple, guided journey for someone new to genealogy, designing an intuitive flow that supports searching for and reconnecting with relatives in a hassle-free and engaging way.
